A Man of No Importance
Beth came back to NYC and immediately jumped into a wild fall standing by for three roles (Mare Winningham as Lily Byrne, Mary Beth Piel as Mrs. Grace, and Alma Cuervo as Oona Crowe) in ‘A Man of No Importance’ at Classic Stage Company. Director John Doyle’s final project as Artistic Director at this off-Broadway gem of a theatre was this re-envisioned piece from 2002. Doyle’s signature style of including actor-musicians and refining the piece to it’s most concise form made for a one-act masterpiece that wowed critics and audiences. Beth performed not only as Mrs. Grace, but also as “Elizabeth Lally” - stepping into a male role when covid hit the company! What an adventure!
